Self-Paced Training | Virtual CRASH 3, 4, 5, 6 | Pedestrian Impacts 1
Course Description
This course deals with simulating pedestrian impacts. The course systematically breaks down and examines pedestrian impacts from projectile motion, ground-impact, and slide-to-stop phases.
The topics covered in this course are:
Importing and scaling graphs to use within a simulation.
Basic review of multi-point contact impulse momentum based simulations.
Objects undergoing uniform acceleration and deceleration.
Projectile motion.
Ground-impact impulses.
Objects tumbling and sliding to stop.
Prerequisites
Students should have a strong working knowledge of the Virtual CRASH user interface and how to create simulations. It is strongly recommend to first complete the Virtual CRASH Interface, Simulation Basics, and Advanced Analyses 1 self-paced training courses before taking this course.
Time for completion
Your access to the course will expire 30 days after enrollment, so be sure to give yourself enough time to work through the course material.
Grades and Certificate of Completion
Your final grade will either be a “Pass” or a “Fail”. Grading is based on your performance on quizzes and projects. You’ll need a score of 70% or higher to receive a “Pass” for each of the given quizzes and projects. You must pass all quizzes and projects to receive a “Pass” for the course module. If you pass a training course, you will receive a certificate of completion indicating you have passed that course. We will not keep permanent records of your specific quiz or project performance. If you pass a training course, our permanent records will only indicate that you have successfully passed that given course.
